Professor Melinda M. Ponder: Professor Ponder is a scholar and Professor Emerita of English at Pine Manor College, where she also coordinated the English B.A. and Women's Studies programs. Holding an M.A. in American Studies and a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Boston College, she has published extensively on American authors, particularly Katharine Lee Bates and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Ponder has written several books, including Katharine Lee Bates: From Sea to Shining Sea and Hawthorne and Women: Engendering and Expanding the Hawthorne Tradition. Her research has earned her recognition in various academic journals, and she has appeared on platforms such as A&E Network and Monitor Radio. Originally from Indianapolis, Ponder now resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
